Robert Campbell
Chief Operations Officer
Rob Campbell brings over a decade of exceptional operational leadership within the behavioral health sector to The Summit Sanctuary. His extensive experience is underpinned by a personal and profound passion for this field, driven by his own recovery journey. This unique perspective fuels his commitment to excellence and enriches every aspect of our operations. Previous to his career in behavioral health, Rob spent over 12 years in retail finance, where he honed his leadership skills. Currently pursuing an MBA at the Eller College of the University of Arizona, Rob also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and is a trained Crisis Interventionist. His educational background and hands-on experience empower him to foster a supportive and effective environment for both staff and guests. Rob thrives on setting and cultivating organizational culture, coaching and mentoring staff, and directly supporting guests in their recovery journeys.

Jordan Koplan
Community Liaison
Jordan Koplan brings extensive experience in business development, strategic sales, and relationship management to his role as Community Liaison at The Summit Sanctuary. Having personally faced challenges with alcohol and mental health, he offers a compassionate, firsthand perspective to those seeking recovery. A triathlete and devoted family member, Jordan is committed to empowering individuals to achieve lasting wellness. Dr. Sayegh was raised in New York where he trained at NYU Brooklyn campus in Brooklyn, NY and continued to become board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Sayegh's extensive 38-year career in substance abuse treatment enriches The Summit with invaluable experience, elevating its mission. With 16 years of personal recovery, Dr. Sayegh not only brings professional expertise but also a profound empathy from his own journey. His firsthand understanding lends a depth of insight into the struggles faced by those battling addiction.

Nicole is a nationally certified physician assistant committed to delivering comprehensive and collaborative care. Graduating with honors in Health and Human Sciences from the University of Southern California, she later earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University after relocating to Arizona. Emily is a dedicated primary therapist at The Summit Sanctuary, bringing a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to her practice. Since 2016, she has been immersed in the substance abuse and mental health field, providing empathetic and effective care to her clients. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and has received specialized training in various therapeutic modalities, including: Experiential Therapies: Utilizing techniques such as mirror work and Gestalt therapy to help clients gain deeper self-awareness. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Assisting clients in identifying and modifying negative thought patterns. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Encouraging clients to accept their thoughts and feelings while committing to behavior changes. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Teaching skills to manage emotions and improve relationships. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Aiding in the processing of traumatic memories. With a Bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology and a Master's in Forensic Psychology, Angelica combines academic expertise with practical and professional experience to drive positive outcomes for clients. Previously, Angelica has served as a case manager and group facilitator, where she honed skills in client advocacy, assessing client needs, developing goal-oriented plans, and leading therapeutic groups. Certified in peer support, Angelica brings a personal understanding of recovery to their work, offering a unique blend of empathy, empowerment, and goal-focused strategies to help individuals navigate challenges and build resilience. Dr. Roland Segal

Graduating from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, Dr. Roland Segal pursued his general psychiatry training at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Segal further refined his skills through a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Segal has more than 10 years of clinical, administrative, executive and forensic experience. With double board certification in General and Forensic Psychiatry, Dr. Segal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. He served as the Chief Medical Officer at Valley Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, president of the Arizona Psychiatric Society, chair of the legislative committee. Dr. Segal is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, where he regularly teaches medical students and residents. Dr. Segal values objectivity, morality, ethics, mindfulness, and cultural awareness in a diverse society. His unwavering commitment to comprehensive psychiatric care serves as a testament to his dedication to enhancing the lives of his clients at the Summit Sanctuary.

Ernest brings a wealth of experience and passion to our team at The Summit Sanctuary. Originally from Chicago, IL, Ernest made his mark in the medical field after moving to the Phoenix area in 2011 with his wife and two sons. Having graduated from Chamberlain University, Ernest's professional journey has been deeply rooted in both medical and behavioral health specialties. However, it was his unwavering commitment to addressing the often-overlooked realm of mental health that led him to specialize as a psychiatric mental health nurse. Ernest firmly believes that mental health deserves equal attention as physical well-being. Through his work, he endeavors to support individuals facing mental health challenges, offering compassionate care and advocating for greater awareness and understanding in our society.

Dr. Laura Rubiales

Acupuncturist
Dr. Laura Rubiales is a licensed naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist who has been practicing since 2001. She has had extensive experiencing treating mental health conditions and PTSD. At the Summit Sanctuary, she is providing community acupuncture, individual acupuncture sessions and naturopathic consultations to support nutritional, hormonal and neurotransmitter balance. She has trained with the Center for Mind Body Medicine and often offers visualization during acupuncture treatments to support the subconscious in deeper healing. Dr. Rubiales greatly appreciates The Summit Sanctuary’s holistic approach and beautiful setting of deep peace and is happy to be part of the team to support people’s path into healthier lives.

Equine Instructor

Kelsey Jackson
Yoga Instructor
Kelsey, a 500 Hour RYT, has been teaching recovery based yoga for 6 years, and holds multiple fitness certifications, including Life Coach and Nutrition Coach. Born and raised in Arizona, Kelsey teaches intuitive Vinyasa-based classes that connect breath with movement, fostering creativity, strength, and healing in a supportive environment. Her passion in life is to help cultivate the uniqueness of every individual and hold a safe space for growth + healing. She is honored to share this magical experience of yoga with others and guide clients of The Summit Sanctuary through their own unique journey.

Gretchen Seek
Yoga Instructor
Gretchen has been practicing yoga since 2002 purely for health benefits. It wasn’t until she went through her own battle with alcoholism that she was able to find the mind and spirit part of the practice. Her yoga practice quickly bloomed into a precious meditation practice as well as energy work and Reiki treatments. After treatment, Gretchen was encouraged to get her yoga teaching certification. Since then, she has been devoting her superpowers to recovery centers, sharing the gift of yoga and meditation that was so lovingly shared with her. The meditative side of yoga did not come easy for Gretchen, but she found out what works for her. Practice makes progress. Now she knows that it is her purpose on this planet to help others feel the power, freedom, and self-love that comes with yoga & meditation.

Guillermo’s commitment to culinary excellence and his understanding of food's therapeutic potential plays a vital role in fostering a nurturing and restorative environment.

Carolyn Blackmon
Yoga Instructor
Carolyn is a compassionate and highly skilled instructor who specializes in addiction recovery, mental health, and trauma. With extensive experience practicing and teaching various styles of yoga in diverse environments, she believes that yoga and meditation offer unique benefits to everyone. Through her own journey, Carolyn has found soul healing, community, mental rest, and physical nourishment, and she aspires to provide the same transformative experiences for her students. Recognizing her passion for supporting those struggling with addiction and mental health issues, Carolyn completed Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training through Soul Work in early 2021. Her expertise lies in stress and anxiety release classes, yoga nidra, guided meditations, and mindful movement sessions. Carolyn's classes are infused with wisdom and inspiration, empowering students to carry the benefits of their practice beyond the mat and into their daily lives.
